Welcome to the Ars Viva Center for Music! Founded by Cellist/Conductor Jesse Henkensiefken and Pianist Tatiana Tessman the AVCFM lesson in the comfort of you own home or at their private studio in Mamaroneck NY. TUITION
The AVCFM school year is organized into three semesters: Spring, Fall and Summer. The tuition for the Fall or Spring semester includes the total of seventeen (17) or eighteen (18) weeks of lessons per term. The Summer semester is eight (8) to ten (10) weeks long. Monthly tuition is expected to be paid in full on the last lesson of the month for the upcoming month.

LATE FEE
There will be a fee of $30.00 charged for every tuition payment made or postmarked after the given deadline.

MISSED LESSONS
"Due to limited time and scheduling difficulties, ONLY ONE MAKE-UP LESSON IS ALLOWED PER SEMESTER. Do not ask for an exception to this rule. If you know ahead of time that you have to miss a regularly scheduled lesson - please contact a fellow student in order to switch a lesson time. Tuition is buying the teacher's time, training and experience. The time is saved for you - if you don't use this time, it is of no value to anyone else"

Please be advised that canceling an irregular fifth lesson of the month is not allowed (if there are 5 lessons in a month, you are responsible for all of them). Lessons missed by the teacher will be made up.

MAJOR HOLIDAYS
There are will be no lessons scheduled on major holidays.

SCHEDULING
In order to receive the most preferable times for lessons, we encourage students to work with the teacher on scheduling ahead of time. We will work with your schedule if you need a permanent change of class time, but this will depend on the other student's ability to switch.

PRACTICE
Please be advised that daily practice will improve your skills and make you succeed. It is recommended to practice at least 30 minutes a day, five days a week. For ages 4-6 it is suggested to start with 15 min at a time.

CANCELLATION OF LESSONS
If a student elects to terminate lessons with the studio, a one month advanced notice is required. If an advanced notice is not given all prepaid lessons are forfeit.

RECITALS
Recitals are not mandatory and are held twice per year, on weekends. We like to see families join us for these events and we prefer our performers to be dressed in formal attire and dress shoes.
